A type of SCSI connection featuring a male or female style connector found on older IBM compatible SCSI controller cards and SCSI devices (mostly CD-ROM drives). Instead of 50 pins sticking out of the end of the connector as found on a SCSI DB50 male connector, the end of a Centronics 50 male connector is constructed of one long, narrow row where the pins are housed, 25 on top and 25 on the bottom, inside of grooves. You may recognize Centronics 50 connectors by the manner in which they stay connected. Male and female are usually tethered by small metal loops found on each side of the female connector that “strap” the male connector in once connection is secured.
