When video is recorded, SMPTE Time Code is digitally encoded into each frame of video. This Time Code is then used to synchronize the video to audio. The Time Code address is the specific Time Code for an individual frame of video. Since Time Code tracks frames (0-29 frames per second), seconds (0-59), minutes (0-59), and hours (0-23), there are 2,592,000 possible unique eight digit time code addresses in a 24-hour day, and it is displayed in the following format: 00:00:00:00. Time Code addresses are read from the left with the order being hours, minutes, seconds, and frames.
