RAID 6

A RAID level that uses a combination of striping and dual parity to enhance the security of data storage. As with RAID 5, data is striped across the multiple component disks in the RAID at the block level. The difference between the two is that RAID 6 stores two sets of parity information, which are each distributed across all the disks in the array. With a RAID 6 system, the data will be able to survive the loss of any two disks in the RAID.
