Richlite(tm) is a paper-based fiber composite product made from certified sustainable resources from North American forests. It was invented by the Richlite company. Though it is most often used for industrial architecture applications, such as food service countertops, it has proven popular with environmentally conscious guitar makers. Martin is one such manufacturer, who uses Richlite for making fretboards for certain models, such as some of the Performing Artist series.
