We’ve run a similar tip before, but based on recent experiences here, it is worth running again: If you are shipping a product to Sweetwater (or anywhere else for that matter) and don’t have the original box, keep these thoughts in mind when packing the unit: It is cheaper to pay for 2" of bubble wrap packing (minimum) than it is to pay for a new casing and the labor required to fix it if the carrier smashes the case in transit.
As you finish packing the unit up, ask yourself if you feel comfortable dropping the package from 3 feet off the ground – about the distance off the back of the average carrier truck. If not, pack it better ’cause Murphy will make sure it gets dropped at least that far, at least once on its journey. Remember: If your shipment is not packed well enough, the shipper may or may not cover the damage – even if you paid insurance on the unit!
