A lot of you out there who own Glyph Jaz drives have been asking if you should be using the Lido 7 driver Glyph provides, or a regular Iomega driver.
The two drivers are really designed for different uses. The best situation would be to have both, and load the one required for the task at hand.
Glyph’s Lido 7 driver is optimized for recording and playing back digital audio with the Jaz drive. It is not designed for regular data backups, archiving, or normal file transfers. In fact, over time, it may cause problems when used for these tasks.
The Iomega driver, on the other hand, is designed for regular, non-audio tasks. We do not recommend it for digital audio applications.
If you have a Glyph Jaz drive, and need the Iomega driver, it is available on Iomega’s site.
