There’ve been recent reports of unreliable USB MIDI communication with the newest G4 Power Macs. We have confirmed through our own testing that G4 machines with Gigabit Ethernet are experiencing some intermittent problems with USB MIDI interfaces. We’re confident these anomalies will be resolved very soon. Meanwhile you may want to either purchase one of the older (non-gigabit Ethernet) Macs, or consider a Stealth Port serial interface card. The kicker here is that the current Stealth Port, which was designed for the older models, requires a slight mechanical modification to be installed into one of the new machines. It’s really no big deal, but we’re happy to do it for you on this end if you want.
