It’s extremely important that users of Native Instruments’ KONTAKT 3 use the specific driver for the sound card they’re using, so be sure to check your manual. There are also a number of generic ASIO drivers, typically called (for Windows systems), “ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver” or “ASIO Multimedia Driver.” They are typically found in a drop-down menu in the host program, where you choose the desired one. If you’re not sure which one is correct, you can’t hurt anything by trying them all and then choosing the one with the lowest latency. Typically there is a dramatic difference between the correct driver and all others, so you probably won’t have any trouble selecting the right one.
