3-prong to 2-prong AC ground lift adapters are wonderful, useful tools – if used correctly! In general, lifting the ground on an electrical device is a BAD IDEA. Ground lift adapters should only be used as tools for identifying the source of ground loop problems, not as a solution. Mark Phillips, the electrical guru in our Service Department says, "Ground lift adapters are ‘Widow Makers’, especially the way many musicians use them in live rigs. Before risking your life using an adapter, check one of the many sources available for guidance on solving ground problems the RIGHT way." Good advice!
