PreSonus has really been cooking up something great with the recent addition of the FIREstation to their already interesting menu of fine audio products. Here at AES, PreSonus took the FIREstation one step further by announcing WDM drivers for Windows making it even more compatible with different DAWs! The FIREstation is a FireWire recording interface that features 8 balanced inputs and outputs, 2 mic preamps, word clock, MIDI and S/PDIF I/O and more. What really makes the FIREstation sizzle its supports of the mLAN protocol. That means that you can take another mLAN compatible device, such as Yamaha’s Motif, and plug it into the FIREstation via its FireWire port and route MIDI data, digital audio and word clock at the same time to the FIREstation.
