Gretsch Drums Renown
Gretsch Drums Renown Series
Rock, metal, jazz, country — if you’re a drummer, then there’s a pretty good chance you play at least two of these, and that means you need a real workhorse drum kit that can easily cross genres. Lucky for you, there’s the Gretsch Renown drums series. Gretsch Renown drums are widely considered among the best all-purpose drums on the market. You get the touch response and subtlety you need for bebop grooves, the snap and punch you need for classic rock, the pristine clarity you need for modern pop, and more. Onstage or in the studio, you’ll rarely find drums as flexible as Gretsch Renown drums.
Renown Drum Design
The formula behind Gretsch Renown drums is a Gretsch classic: seven plies of fine maple wood. On its own, maple offers unique characteristics. It’s bold and projects impressively with a ton of punch and clarity. Gretsch Renown Drum shells also feature a shallow 30-degree bearing edge. This bearing angle yields added warmth and far gentler attack than more common 45-degree bearing edges offer, yet these drums are delightfully responsive to dynamics, tightening up dramatically as you play harder. One extra touch we love about Renown drums is Gretsch’s Silver Sealer. This interior treatment adds an overall focus and snap to your drums. It’s the perfect added touch.
There are a couple of other stand-out features of Gretsch Renown drums you should know about. If you’re a fan of Gretsch’s Broadkaster drums or Brooklyn lines, then these hoops will be familiar. They’re lighter and less rigid than cast hoops, yet they deliver the same kind of focused character. The result is a neutral, open, complex tone with plenty of breathing room to fit into any kind of genre or playing style. Add to that an off-the-shell tom mounting system, memory locks, and classic T-Wing screws, and you can get an amazing Gretsch drum kit that’s perfect for you.
