The Gretsch Renown Series shell pack delivers a tone and playing experience that will have you going back to it for every musical genre and style. Their sound covers the warm tones of the 1950s as easily as it punches with the authority of 1980s rock. Much of the shells' versatility comes from their 7-ply maple construction and 30-degree bearing edge. And Gretsch upgraded the Renown Series with their 302 hoops, which exude the same character as die-cast hoops, but with added resonance thanks to their lighter weight.

That Great Gretsch Sound
I've been playing drums for almost 40 years and this is probably the best sounding kit I've ever laid a stick on. I've always wanted a Gretsch and I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on this one. Don't let the 24" kick scare you , she's amazing.

Truly a Dream
After owning and playing on a twenty inch bass drum for most of my playing years, this is such a nice change. Pictures do not do this kit justice, however the finish is exactly as shown; a beautiful, subtle tobacco burst. It looks even better in person, and straight out of the box the drums sound great. The kick is amazingly boomy, add a kickport to it and (to me) you get the perfect mix of boom and punch. The rack tom sings, the floor tom is it's perfect compliment, and the hardware is the cherry on top. All in all thoroughly impressed; thank you Gretsch and Sweetwater!
