Travel Well with the Lightest Godin Multiac Yet!
The Godin Multiac Mundial marks a fresh take on the Multiac line, and one that’s ultralight and optimized for travel. Even with its feather-light feel, the Multiac Mundial is more than ready to take the stage and wow crowds with rich, full-bodied nylon tone. A thin hollowbody inspired by electric guitars facilitates outstanding comfort for players, while a flexible preamp system ensures sound quality is up to snuff for your audience. What’s more, comfortable playability is a given. Whether you’re a longtime Multiac fan or making the leap to an acoustic-electric thin body for the first time, the Mundial’s rosewood fingerboard and Spanish cedar neck will feel familiar instantly. Authentic solid cedar top
Godin’s discerning luthiers take quality tone seriously, and that’s why the Multiac Mundial features an incredible solid cedar top. By putting this favorite classical guitar tonewood front and center, the Mundial brims with a voluminous acoustic resonance that’s emotive, warm, and slightly dark around the edges — just like cedar should be. Scared of the dark? Fear not! This guitar’s silver leaf maple back and sides round out the cedar with clarity, dynamic range, and the crisp attack critical for intricate fingerstyle. The Multiac is undoubtedly made for plugging in, but Godin knows top-notch tonewoods make all the difference in shaping those core acoustics to perfection.
Custom-voiced dual-source electronics
Godin’s stunning custom preamps keep players coming to the Multiac time and time again, and the Multiac Mundial is no exception! The Multiac Mundial flexible Double Source preamp features 3-band EQ, volume, and blend controls that help players get their acoustic-electric tones just right. The real kicker is the Double Source’s blend control. As the name suggests, the Double Source collects sound at multiple points of the guitar, offering nuanced shades of resonance to shape amplified sound. The first transducer source comprises four body sensors, and the second is a traditional under-saddle pickup that emphasizes string sound and attack (while reducing tonewoods’ coloration of sound). The ability to blend both sources makes sure there’s a perfect tone to dial in. And while the Double Source’s versatility is vast, the preamp controls are beyond simple and can be mastered in minutes.
Multiac: a nylon institution
Since its introduction in 1993, the Godin Multiac has become the gold-standard nylon acoustic-electric guitar. Musicians ranging from avid classical enthusiasts to popular artists like Keith Urban and Roger Waters have wielded a Multiac onstage with sterling results. The Multiac’s unparalleled sound quality and playability have made it an institution for nearly three decades. Moreover, each Godin Multiac is still meticulously handcrafted by dedicated artisans in Quebec, Canada, a true point of pride as this series matures to middle age. Multiacs are available in a variety of body shapes with unique electronic ranging from straightforward preamps to state-of-the-art powerhouses packed with additional controls, EQ, effects, and even synth compatibility.
