The Black Angel Piezo pickup is designed with DiMarzio's stratifying technology, which means the piezo sensors are stacked between layers of real wood. Because piezo pickups respond to vibration, and because the layers of maple enhance vibrational transfer, the Black Angel Piezo offers a more wide-ranging and well-balanced tone than you may expect from a piezo acoustic pickup.

It's common to complement the sound of a piezo pickup with a magnetic pickup or even a small mic to capture the full resonant character of an acoustic guitar. To help you on your quest for the perfect tone, DiMarzio includes a Switchcraft stereo endpin jack with the Black Angel Piezo pickup for use with their Black Angel Magnetic soundhole pickup (sold separately). This allows you to combine the output of both pickups with a single stereo output, blending the immediacy and detail of the piezo with the resonant character of the magnetic pickup.
