Old-school Analog Delay

There's a unique sound to real bucket-brigade analog delay pedals, like the Behringer Vintage Delay VD400, that the guitarists here at Sweetwater absolutely adore. It's dark and brooding, yet clear and atmospheric at the same time, offering both ambience and distinct echoes all at once. The Vintage Delay VD400 guitar pedal offers all of this and more, providing you with up to 300ms and a set of simple controls that let you dial in anything from a tape-style slap-back to long trailing effects. Cooler still, the VD400 offers split outputs, in case you want to send your delay and direct sound down different signal paths.

  • Experience true analog delay and vintage vibe of real slap-back echo
  • Vintage BBDs produce up to 300ms of delay and advanced noise reduction circuit keeps your signal clean

Reviews

Great Pedal for the price
If you need a good quality pedal on a budget, Behringer is the company for it. This is a really good delay for the price. You can definitely get better for 3 to 4 times the money, but for this price, this pedal is great. Highly recommend.

Do not Delay get yours today!
Not being a "Pedal Guy" I had no experience with effects but decided to give some a try when Sweetwater / Behringer had their deal going on so I picked up 4 pedals including this VD 400 Vintage Delay. They all arrived yesterday and I tried this and the TM300 Tube Amp Modeler pedal today. These were quickly connected to my olde Fender Champion 110 Solid State combo amp with 10 inch "Fender" speaker which has always served me well and these days acts as my small amp for fiddling about in the den. I have been in the learn theory and practice, practice, practice mode since the pandemic settled in. The practice mode went right out the window when the pedals kicked in and it was fun time play the guitar morning until lunch. Mostly messing with the delay then both pedals together. Started out with my Fender FSR 50's Butterscotch Telecaster with HOT pickups then my MIM Strat with the ceramic pickups. This pedal is a blast to play with. You should get one. Later it will be up the stairs with the TO800 Vintage Tube Overdrive Pedal, the 2009 USA SSS Stratocaster and my original electric the 1976 USA Telecaster Deluxe and the Carved Top G&L that I picked up from Sweetwater earlier in the year......one positive thing about Covid - 19 other than Ted Nugent catching it is all the sweet gear additions to the electric arsenal. Everything is better with pics so I am including an image with the pedals, the aforementioned axes and the old trusty amp. Giving four stars as to get five from me well......I need to be left Blinded and Knocked out Loaded.

Excellent
Tis warm and good.
Behringer VD400
I must say...this pedal for the cost is excellent! I highly recommend if you want a decent analog delay for a great price. I have on my pedal board in my home studio.

It is made of a hard plastic so I don't know how well it would hold up on the road or gigging here and there. That's the only con I have against this pedal.

Other than that...I love it.
Music background: been playing guitar and bass for 30+ yrs
My favorite Behringer Pedal
I've had 8 or so behringer pedals.. most are an okay value- I just have nicer pedals, so I ended up getting rid of most of them, but the VD400 has stayed on my pedalboard. I have "nicer" delays.. my Maxon AD9 is a very sweet sounding delay, and if I had delay on all the time, Id prefer it, but it changes my tone too much. I cant just click it on in the middle of a song without changing the mood.. The VD400 keeps my tone intact and nothing has dethroned it yet. I sometimes run the VD400 kinda more subtly alongside a jhs panther delay with tap tempo that I'll use for a more dramatic effect.. Anyway, I would recommend the VD400 if youd like a true analog bucket brigade delay for a fair price
