Pedalboard-ready Convolution Reverb with Onboard IR Cloning

Equipped with two cutting-edge engines, the Hotone Verbera convolution reverb pedal will round out your sonic arsenal with both stunning impulse response reverbs and more traditional algorithm-based echoes. This stereo pedal boasts 120 premium IRs right out of the box, capturing the complex resonance of symphony halls, cathedrals, and more. What’s more, plenty of legendary hardware reverb patches augment these regal real-world IRs — you can even capture the sounds of your favorite reverb pedals and hardware using the Verbera’s onboard cloning function! These ’verbs can be layered and tweaked utilizing the pedal’s intuitive LCD-based workflow, with power parameter controls, optional tails, and real-time IR envelope adjustment/switching. You also get a plethora of performance-minded appointments, including MIDI control, an expression pedal input, dual footswitch modes, and an ethereal Freeze function. It’s all topped off with studio-grade ultra-low-latency performance, a pure analog dry-through circuit design, superb AD/DA conversion with 32-bit/192kHz sampling accuracy, and a USB jack for straightforward firmware updates and preset management.

Innovative dual-engine construction

The key to the Hotone Verbera’s versatility lies in its powerhouse dual-engine design. It all starts with a cutting-edge IR convolution engine, which captures the natural echoes and reflections of real-world spaces and studio gear with the utmost accuracy. Just this engine on its own would make for a formidable echo box, yet Hotone ups the ante even further with the Verbera’s finely tuned algorithmic reverb engine. Best of all, these two engines can be layered, shaped, and sculpted to your heart’s content, giving you the power to dial in wholly distinct reverb resonations to set your sound apart.

Clone your entire reverb collection

Right out of the gate, the Hotone Verbera comes packed with 120 IRs, with the ability to save up to 1,024. To fill out those extra spaces, the Verbera comes equipped with a powerful IR cloning engine that digitally captures the sounds of hardware reverb pedals and effects with stunning sonic precision. Slap a Verbera onto your pedalboard, and you'll be able to effortlessly access all your favorite ’verbs from a single stompbox!

Note: The Hotone Verbera’s cloning function operates off impulse response technology and cannot clone shimmer/effect-laden reverb patches.

Hotone: scorching tones that take you to new sonic heights

A steadfast dedication to tone is apparent from the company’s name (pronounced “hot tone”), and its forward-thinking lineup lives up to that title with superb-sounding floor processors, pedals, amplifiers, and more. Scores of Sweetwater musicians choose Hotone’s professional-grade products to power their rigs, and they’re certainly in good company — Hotone’s star-studded, genre-defying collection of artist endorsements ranges from funk guitar phenom Cory Wong to pioneering Latin Christian artist Chris Rocha.

Reviews

Great, cutting edge pedal
I had a Logidy Epsi convolution reverb pedal that I loved but it wasn't great for live use since it was hard to adjust on the fly. It also did not have an IR capture function built in, nor a screen to see IR names. The Verbera solves all this, and adds more functionality. First, I just did a capture of the spring tank in my old Deluxe Reverb II, which has a line out to make it easier. The capture "clone" process from the Verbera was super quick, and sounds identical to the spring tank. Be aware that you can't clone shimmer reverbs, but the pedal does have a really useful and good sounding modulation function to apply to reverbs. The freeze function is great and the way the pedal is set up to step up/down presets is well-implemented. All this said, there are a few niggles with this pedal: 1) the Neon Collector software from Hotone does not offer full programing of the pedal and has a clunky way of storing to/from the pedal. Hotone really needs to improve this software. 2) The current draw is high at 1A, so either use the supplied power wart, or make sure your pedal power supply is capable of supplying requisite current. 3) The lights on the pedal cannot be dimmed or turned off. Perhaps this could be part of a future firmware update. In any case, this is several steps up from the Logidy Epsi. Overall, an excellent device.
