From Dirty Grind to a Wall of Fuzz

The T-Rex Mudhoney Classic packs the iconic crunchy, fuzzy tone of T-Rex's popular original Mudhoney overdrive/distortion pedal with updated technology and premium precision components. Controls include Gain, Level, Tone, and a Boost switch that toggles between moderate and high gain, for a massive tonal range that delivers everything from smooth, dirty grind to a devastating wall of distortion.

T-Rex Effects: Guitarist Designed, Quality Built

Danish tone pioneers T-Rex Engineering have been making quality effects pedals and guitar gear since the 1990s. T-Rex pedals are made using some of the best components in the industry, such as film/foil electrolytic capacitors, lifetime-use pots, and rugged footswitches, toggles, and connectors. T-Rex's better-known pedals include the Replica digital delay and Mudhoney distortion, which can be found on the pedalboards of top guitarists David Gilmour, John Mayer, Mark Tremonti, and Steve Morse, as well as many of Sweetwater's players.

T-Rex Mudhoney Classic Distortion Pedal Features:

  • Overdrive/distortion pedal based on the original Mudhoney
  • Level, gain, tone, and boost controls
  • Gain control lets you dial in the ideal amount of distortion
  • Level knob sets overall volume (12 o'clock is 1:1; full clockwise is +12dB)
  • Tone control affects the treble end of your signal without compromising sonic quality
  • Boost toggle with illuminated indicator switches between moderate and high gain
  • Built using the same recipe as the first hand-built Mudhoney pedals in T-Rex's shop in 1998

Reviews

King of Rats is Honey.
Classic perfect.
Must have!
Didn’t know what to really expect when I purchased this. I wasn’t really familiar with T. Rex and had heard only a few things about the Mudhoney. The second I started to dial this thing in I was shocked! Literally had to put the guitar down and walk away a couple times... and I mean that in a good way. Not only is this Pedal an unreal distortion/overdrive its easily one of the most workable fuzz’s I’ve ever had on the board. The boost channel turns his thing into a tone monster! I could keep writing but I won’t. But this! This pedal has a life long home on the board... Nuff said.
My Favorite Drive
I have an original Mudhoney I have had since 2007 that I love. Bur after receiving this as a birthday gift I can't believe how much better I like the updated version. The tone control seems to have a more usable range that gives me more than enough flexibility to switch out other drives. It plays well with all my pedals.
Awesome Jazz Distortion
I have had this one for over 6 years and it is one of my favorites. It would be perfect for Modern Jazz!
It goes from mild to moderately wild Distortion. Highly Recommended!

Nice sounding Big pedal
Simply put, this pedal sounds Good. It can do lighter gain stuff and heavy stuff well, and for the price, it's a pretty good deal. Also, the color is nice.

A small caveat- This pedal is BIG. So if you need space on your board, be aware.

PS: This pedal does color your tone a bit. It's a distortion pedal but can clean up nicely if you roll the Gain Knob back.
