Two Classic Fuzz Effects + Octave
Fuzz fans of all camps will delight in all the EarthQuaker Devices Hoof Reaper V2 has on tap. This 3-in-1 pedal combines two indispensable fuzz circuits — a sludgy green Russian and a '60s silver Briton — plus an analog octave-up effect for synthy, screaming leads and embellishments. All three effects can be used independently or stacked for a total of seven unique tone injections. V2 of this pedal features silent relay switching for superior life and more comfortable feel underfoot, as well as EarthQuaker's Flexi-switch on the octave effect for either momentary or latching operation.

The Hoof: EarthQuaker's flagship fuzz
The EarthQuaker Devices Hoof, based on a popular green Russian fuzz, soaks your tone in a slurry of germanium and silicon transistors. Its smooth midrange contour and rich sustain make the Hoof a classic for acid and slacker rock. Tone and Shift controls serve up a massive helping of tone-shaping options — especially in the midrange — delivering everything from classic scooped to modern boosted mids.
Tone Reaper: designed after a 3-knob Bender
The vintage-styled Tone Reaper fuzz is another silicon/germanium hybrid. It's based on the later 3-knob version of a popular British fuzz from the '60s and '70s. Its spitty, sputtery response grows into a ghastly growl as you crank the gain. The Tone Reaper packs more of a bite than the Hoof, giving you extra aggression when you need to shake up a mix.
Analog octave-up effect with Flexi-switch
The addition of an independent octave effect takes the Hoof Reaper V2 from great to grand. On its own or paired with either or both of the fuzzes, the octave adds that classic screaming, synthy high end of some early fuzzes — an effect that the Hoof and Tone Reaper pedals don't have on their own. Sweetwater testers thoroughly enjoyed the Flexi-switch: tap to latch on and off, or press and hold for a momentary burst.
