Advanced Loop Switcher

The JHS Pedals Switchback is a tiny box with a huge feature set. It began life as a device that JHS designed just for themselves to compare and test pedals around the factory. They soon realized, however, that this little box was so useful that it belonged in every guitarist's rig onstage or in the studio. The Switchback has one input, one output, and sends/returns for two separate selectable effects loops, plus an A/B controllable by JHS's Red Remote switching system (available separately). Because of the Red Remote functionality, you can place the Switchback and any effects in its loops completely out of sight under your pedalboard or tucked away in a rack while only having the tiny Red Remote accessible. The footswitch is true bypass, so when it’s off, it's not affecting your signal. At Sweetwater, we've found a virtually unlimited number of ways to use the Switchback.

Many uses for this indispensable little box

A few suggestions on how you can use the Switchback: an A/B true bypass looper, a simple true bypass looper, an A/B box, an amp input switcher, an effects loop A/B… we could keep going, but we'll leave it to you!

JHS Pedals Switchback Features:

  • Advanced loop switcher
  • True bypass footswitch
  • 1 input, 1 output
  • Sends/returns for 2 separate selectable effects loops
  • A/B controllable by JHS's Red Remote switching system (available separately)

Reviews

Love it
JHS quality, and I can switch on multiple pedals with one click.
In case this helps: if you go with this approach, then you really have three channels: pedals that come before the switcher (which you turn on and off individually, the old-fashioned way), pedals in channel 1 and pedals in channel 2 (but not both). That's the simple version.
I only use one light overdrive before it and the bulk of my pedals in channel 2 (with one click I turn on distortion or fuzz, chorus, phaser, ring mod and delay). If you can make one of those two systems work and you want the ability to switch on multiple effects with one click, then this is for you.
great dual by pass loop switcher
Utterly quiet and seems transparent to the signal. There are many uses for such pedals and this one is reasonably priced for 2 loops and it does the job rather well. You can get the external switch to change 1 and 2 but that puppy is bucks which is quite alot for a simple switch (maybe because it's red? lol). Also red does not come w a TRS cable far as I know. Anyway if you just need a couple by-pass loops to solve separating chained pedals or just get a few things out of chain, this is a great little switch block.
Goldilocks Loop Switcher
Not too big, not too small, this pedal is just right for simple two loop routing.

I use this to switch between acoustic guitar and electric guitar effects on the same pedalboard. I have 3 pedals for acoustic in one loop and 3 for electric in the other loop. The tuner, volume, reverb, delay, and looper are used by both on the same pedalboard. The Switchback is better than buying two of each effect for two pedalboards.

It's also great for A/B testing individual pedals or combinations. It would be nice if it had a footswitch on it instead of needing a remote but I don't know if it could fit. I also don't think the pedal could be much smaller.

home studio plus
I found the need for this pedal when always plugging and unplugging cables to move from one recording rig to another in my home studio. The JHS Switchback A/B effects loop switcher was perfect for my needs. I can use JHS switchback to move between rig A and rig B seamlessly now. I also make use of the remote input jack for more added convenience, one touch and done ! The JHS switchback pedal has no sound bleed between my two rigs as does other A/B pedals I have tried in the past :( Simple and effective, it is a home studio plus !

Nice loop switcher
Completely silent. Works great. I have my standard gigging pedalboard with my go to stuff and another larger one as a playground to swap pedals in and out which stays in the studio. With this loop switcher I'm able to instantly switch between pedal boards.
