Access the Evocative Sounds of 1960s Dual-manual 'Trons

The M-Tron MkII virtual instrument from GForce celebrates the evocative sounds of the ultra-rare dual-manual 'trons: the Mellotron MkI/MkII and the Chamberlin Music Master. Dating back to the early 1960s, these two instruments were the original “bands in a box,” with rhythms and accompaniments accessible with one hand and lead and chord sounds with the other. The old-school instruments employed exceedingly long tape loops triggered with the press of a key, and they had a distinctly grainy and lived-in character that attracted legions of fans from the legendary recording artists Beatles and King Crimson to contemporary super producers Jon Brion and Jack Antonoff. GForce sourced the sounds of the M-Tron MkII from the original tape archives, preserving their unmatched sonic profiles while expanding the capabilities of the instruments for more modern, DAW-based music makers. Sound-obsessed producers at Sweetwater have long been champions of the GForce M-Tron Pro, so they are ecstatic over the release of the M-Tron MkII, a distinct instrument that brings a new dimension to the GForce family of 'trons.

Massive sample collection from the original tapes

The heart of the M-Tron MkII is its library of over 4,500 carefully curated samples derived from the original Mellotron MkI/MkII and Chamberlin Music Master tapes. GForce was able to procure and capture 132 original tape banks, some of which were previously unreleased. A streamlined user interface invites you to dive deeply into the banks while also providing you with 150 professionally created presets to spark your imagination. From there, you can manipulate the sounds in exciting ways, with easy transposition, half-speed and reverse tape effects, in addition to panning and a selection of modern and vintage reverbs and delays. Play rhythms, accompaniments, and leads simultaneously from an 88-key MIDI controller or two smaller keyboard controllers; next, expedite your arrangements with the handy chord finder visual aid for matching your melodies with the accompaniment.

GForce M-Tron MkII Mellotron Virtual Instrument Features:

  • Emulation of vintage dual-manual 'trons: the Mellotron MkI and MkII and the Chamberlain Music Master
  • 132 tape banks derived from the original tapes, comprising over 4,500 individual samples

Reviews

GFORCE is the best
As a Mellotron/Chamberlain fanboy, I've become a bit of a snob when it comes to modern emulations. Some are good; some are lousy. GFORCE is the best by far. The Mtron Pro is still a mainstay in my productions even after all these years since its release. This new MKII is truly remarkable. I've already used it on 2 records currently in production, and it instantly gave the records that unmistakable Mellotron icing. The gui and fx are fantastic as well. Congratulations, once again, GFORCE. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
