Mid-weight Bongo Stand with Elliptical Leg Base

A quality bongo stand such as the Gibraltar 7716 will change the way you approach the instrument. Hand percussionists can now access their bongos from a standing height alongside their timbales and congas. And set players can now easily add a set of bongos off the side of their kit to be played with hands or sticks. We at Sweetwater like the Gibraltar 7716 bongo stand for its mid-weight adjustable design and locking mounting system. The elliptical leg base supplies the strength of a traditional double-braced stand, but with a sleeker look and a reduced carry weight. Bongo sets secure by their connector block to the G-Clamp mount, so there's no loss of tone to the head or shell. Added features our gigging percussionists appreciate are 7716 removable top lock and adjustable shell support, which not only keeps your bongos secure during play, but pretty well prevents them from moving at all in transit from the van to the stage. Factor in a generous height adjustment range and a rock-solid geared tilter, and it's no secret why the Gibraltar 7716 bongo stand is a fan favorite for auxiliary percussion to trap set.

Gibraltar 7716 Elliptical Bongo Stand Features:

  • Mid-weight bongo stand for hand percussion and drum set applications
  • Elliptical leg base — maintains the strength of a traditional double-braced, but without the weight
  • Bongo connector block sits securely in the G-Clamp
  • Removable top lock prevents bongos from falling off — great for travel!
  • Adjustable shell support keeps bongos from wobbling
  • Geared tilter locks in playing angle
  • Height range: 28.5"–46"

Reviews

Pretty happy, doesn't seem to go low enough for sitting.
The look and feel and adjustments seem pretty solid.

It appears to be quite a challenge to get this low enough for seating. My try ended up with me setting my drum throne fairly high. It would not work from the couch without some fiddling.

It turns out that I'm not interested in sitting down and playing. I like keeping it at standing height and I find I play for a couple of minutes every time I walk by.

If sitting is a priority then this might not be you top solution.
Good Product
I am enjoying my bongo stand it is just what I needed.
Bongo stand
Great stand for the money, plenty of adjustments and sturdy. Thanks again Judd for getting to me on time for my gig
Great build- great quality!
Very happy we purchased this bongo stand. Even though it was at a very affordable price, the hardware was heavy duty!
In our band and my solo act, we have people come up from the audience to play bongos. Some are very rough and that takes it toll on our stands. This Gibraltar stand really seems up to the task!
Music background: Full time musician
Sturdy and functional
Before I purchased it, I read a review that stated the one thing the customer didn't like was that you have to disassemble it a bit in order to secure your bongos on it. Someone who breaks down and sets up their equipment regularly may not care for that.

I purchased it for a studio and may never disassemble it again, and for that reason, have absolutely no complaints with the stand. It's built well and holds my bongos securely.

For the gigging musician, it takes a minute to put it together. That shouldn't be a deal breaker. It's a quality stand.
