Harness space
Like the hardware module that inspired it, an essential element at the heart of this plug-in's design is that it was never intended to specifically replicate certain types of reverbs or spaces. Instead, it prioritizes the reverb effect as one of many possible permutations of the plug-in's sonic architecture, and nearly every control point is responsible for multiple functions. For example, Tone is a bipolar parameter that serves as a filter for the reverb tank. In the center position, it's disabled but functions as low and highpass filters when assigned to the left and right values, respectively.
The spatial distribution of delay lines is managed with the Dense control, increasing in length as you move from left to right, providing a spectrum of possibilities that range from short-and-simple delay to smeared, cavernous reverbs. Regardless of how you play it, the reverb tank's feedback is attenuated with the deceptively versatile Regen slider. As soon as the slider clears 50%, your tail length becomes infinite with 100% feedback. Taking it beyond 75% causes your infinite space to be ducked by new inputs, resulting in an encompassing soundscape of swelling, undulating sidechain-style pulses.
Attenuating time and texture
LFO Speed and LFO Index parameters let you control the speed and amount of the internal LFO, respectively. The Index control is also bipolar, affecting the delay lines with random rates or sine waves when set to the left or right of the center position, which disables the LFO. Since Speed also attenuates the LFO, understanding how to manipulate the two in concert can yield exotic, temporally jarring results.
You'll likely notice two Mode selectors on the plug-in's interface, affecting aspects of timbre, pitch, and underlying modulation behavior. The first provides you with three Node Mode (algorithm) settings: Limit, Distort, and Shift, arming you with clean, distorted, and pitch-shifted reverb effects, respectively. You also get three Lerp Mode (interpolation) settings: Blend, Lerp, and Jump, providing a smooth crossfade, slow-changing delay line lengths, and rapidly changing delay line lengths.
