2-channel Interface Lets You Record Anywhere

The Roland Rubix 22 is a 2-channel USB audio interface that's perfect for mobile recording, even in less than ideal environments. Class-compliant USB and USB bus power make the Rubix 22 a perfect companion for your laptop or iPad, and it's built tough enough that you can toss it in your bag and go. Two low-noise microphone preamplifiers benefit from extensively shielded construction, both of which ward off noise beautifully. There's also a universal ground-lift switch that lets you kill 60Hz AC hum, plus MIDI I/O lets you connect keyboards and controllers. A 6-month membership to Roland Cloud Pro completes the package.

Roland Rubix 22 USB Audio Interface Features:

  • Mobile-ready 2-channel USB recording interface that's perfect for live and studio use
  • Supports up to 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution audio
  • 2 low-noise inputs accept mic-, line-, and instrument-level sources
  • Shielded metal chassis and universal ground-lift switch help prevent noise
  • Selectable monitoring configuration accommodates different setups
  • MIDI I/O connects keyboards, control surfaces, and other MIDI-equipped gear
  • Class-compliant USB supports Mac and Windows PCs as well as iOS devices
  • Includes 6-month membership to Roland Cloud Pro

Reviews

This works well
This works just fine. I had a little issue finding the right software for Windows but I found it.A good feature on this is the ability to plug in with a MIDI cord in and out. I am not sure that is on every interfsce of this type. I can use an older MIDI keyboard with full size keys that has a great piano sound. No need to buy something new. Also, this is very sturdy and well built. The knobs have a quality feel. Recommended
Music background: Play for fun
Excellent small option
I'm a fan of the STUDIO CAPTURE interface and I didn't want to disconnect everything I had set up at my drummer's place so I grabbed this one for interim recording. It's a fine interface with really good low latency. It hasn't given me any trouble yet and it sounds just fine.
Used for Mac and Pc
Running OS Catalina on Mac and Windows 10 on PC. Works great for both.
Music background: Singer, Writer and Producer.
Works great as advertised!
Using Roland Rubix 22 with iPad Pro. It's ideal for use with iPad because its power input is separate from its connection to the iPad since that connection could not power the Roland. If it were being used with a PC or Mac the Roland could draw its power from them so it has a lot of flexibility.

The sound quality recording into the iPad & the headphone jack with separate volume control are great.

My setup is:

Shure SM Beta 58 into Roland, into iPad using USB-C adapter. Using GarageBand app for audio recording/mixing & iMovie importing the audio track for music video project.
Music background: Harmonica
right sound
I like the sound of it, this is the right sound. Uncolored, really for monitoring. Stable work in Winodows 10, a small delay, a quite powerful headphone amplifier with quite a big bass (not like Beats, of course).
I compared:
M-Audio M-Track 2x2 - very stable and convenient, but relatively coarse sound at the output.
Tascam US-1x2 - very(!) unstable, the sound is colored, samplerate 96 max, alas.
Scarlett 2x2 - is the most convenient to use with the widest compatibility, with a detailed and unfortunately very biased V-shaped sound. It's fun, but wrong.
In my opinion Rubiks 22 is much better than all of the above.
What is lacking in Rubix 22:
Does not support 88200 and 176400 sample rate (only 4410, 48000, 96000 and 192000).
There is no auto shutdown.
Outputs there are "impedance balanced", that is to say not fully symmetrical.

I did not have experience with Behringer and Steinberg, but now I finished the search - Rubiks 22 is what I need and I'm not interested in another device (for comparable money).

I'm using Windows 10 on Core-i3/7100 and JBL LSR305/Roland RH-300/Sennheiser HD800. On Rubix I listen to classical music, but I record various terrible mixes. This card is perfect for both actions.

Simply put, modern electronic music wouldn't exist without Roland. Many of the electronic musicians here at Sweetwater cut our teeth on TR Rhythm machines and fondly remember programming our first TB-303s. We owe a good part of our careers to this amazing and innovative company. It's been fun to watch and grow right alongside Roland, as they've introduced wave after wave of revolutionary keyboards, digital pianos, and more. For example, Roland's V-Drum Kits continuously redefine the possibilities of electronic drums, beginning with SuperNATURAL technology to the latest Prismatic Sound Modeling. We're huge fans, and we'd love to tell you all about them. Whether you want a pocket-sized synth or a cutting-edge video mixer, if Roland makes it, then Sweetwater is 100% behind it.
