Both an audio/CV breakout box and a USB host, the Elektron Outbox 8 offers a straightforward way to add eight physical outputs to your modular rig, Elektron gear, or DAW-based setup. Its eight configurable 1/4-inch impedance-balanced, DC-coupled outputs enable you to send audio and CV in myriad combinations — route individual tracks or submixes to mixers and effects, convert MIDI into CV for pitch, gate, trig, value (lin), or clock signals, or use it as a dedicated USB MIDI-to-CV interface to play, sequence, and synchronize modular systems and other CV-capable instruments. Compatible with Elektron Overbridge-enabled units, USB class-compliant MIDI devices, and USB class-compliant audio devices, the Outbox 8 also functions as an 8-output USB audio interface when connected to a computer, tablet, or smartphone, making it equally at home in a live performance rig or a studio environment. At Sweetwater, we’ve found the Outbox 8 to be an incredibly feature-laden unit, brandishing 32-bit/48kHz D/A, a CV output range of ±5 volts, and a single USB 2.0 High-Speed Type-C data port with support for USB Power Delivery and dual-role data and power, rounded out by a dedicated USB Type-C power input and status LED.
