Seize the Signature 7-string Sonics of Regulo Caro

Since releasing his first music in 2010, Regulo Caro has grown to become one of the biggest talents of the Regional Mexican genre, receiving praise, award nominations, and more from the Latin Grammy Awards, Billboard, and a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars, to name a few. Regulo partnered with Schecter to craft a signature instrument capable of supporting his diverse artistry, resulting in the Regulo Caro-7 Acoustic. This 7-string acoustic-electric guitar is built from a fearsome foursome of premium tonewoods: Sitka spruce, mahogany, maple, and rosewood, with a Fishman-fueled suite of electronics that bring your sound to life. With its eye-catching inlays and striking take on the single-cut design, guitarists at Sweetwater are thoroughly impressed by the versatility and tone-crafting potential just waiting to be discovered in Regulo Caro’s signature 7-string acoustic-electric axe!

Four degrees of fundamental foundations

While 7-string electric guitars are frequently associated with heavy and experimental music genres, a 7-string acoustic-electric guitar opens up distinct worlds of sound, style, and playing. For the Regulo Caro-7 Acoustic, Schecter selected the ideal tonewoods to match Regulo’s evocative and energetic play style. Its body comprises a Sitka spruce top and a mahogany back and sides. This combination blends the dynamic range and articulation of spruce with the rich harmonics and blossoming overtones of mahogany, for a high-headroom foundation that contains plenty of projection while accommodating finger- and flatpicked play styles. The hard-rock maple neck builds upon these foundations, thanks to its tonal penchant for full-spectrum warmth and brightness, with its natural note-separating voicing adding to the versatility born from its aural anchor. Finally, a rosewood fretboard completes the tonewood tetrad, supplying glass-like transparency and a crystalline character that maximizes presence without sacrificing articulation.

Fishman-fueled sonics bring your 7-string sound to life

To capture the Regulo Caro-7 Acoustic’s sonic profile and hone it for Regulo’s style, Schecter opted for a Fishman system to electrify this instrument for arena-grade sound. A Fishman Sonicore piezo pickup is supplemented by a Fishman Presys II preamp system, with the latter providing access to an onboard tuner, Phase and Volume knobs, and a 2-band EQ. The low-profile controls are matched with a textured surface that offers satisfying tactility and makes adjustments with laser-accurate precision a breeze, whether you’re dialing in your studio tones or making real-time changes onstage.

Versatile construction, built to support multitudes of musicality

Due to the combination of Regulo’s performance techniques and the expanded range of his 7-string array, Schecter’s luthiers blended a variety of construction methods and profiles to support the multitudes of musicality that this instrument can deliver. Its Thin C-shaped neck is complemented by a 16-inch fretboard radius, balancing speed and comfort to accommodate virtually any acoustic or acoustic-electric play style. A set of Grover tuners and a bone bridge — complete with Graph Tech Black TUSQ pins — bookend your strings, in addition to an ultra-smooth bone nut, collectively keeping your sounds buzz-free and in tune, no matter how you explore the 20 frets that sprawl its 25.5-inch scale.
