A 20-fret Acoustic with Historic Gretsch Attitude

With its period-correct body shape and traditional hardware placement, Sweetwater guitarists agree that the Jim Dandy Deltoluxe acoustic guitar is a stunningly authentic replication of Gretsch's classic mail-order model. The secret to matching this iconic tone is laminated tonewoods, which provide the warmth and sonic punch that's expected of the company's revered backyard strummers — plus, it's onboard Deltoluxe Soundhole pickup offers a great electronic solution during stage and studio scenarios. Additional vintage features including all-nickel hardware and open-gear tuning machines further supply an unmistakable appearance, while ensuring solid performance reminiscent of the instrument's original fixtures. Porch pickin', travel jamming, you name it — Gretsch's classic "Rex" has been through it all. Rest assured, adding a Jim Dandy Deltoluxe to your instrumental arsenal is a one-way ticket to take on any musical scenario with antique-infused confidence.

Sturdy laminate construction and X-bracing

A laminate wood top, back, and sides ensure the Jim Dandy Deltoluxe bears true acoustic tonal power, without the extra weight on your shoulders. Inside the soundhole lies carefully designed X-bracing, adding extra durability to your instrument while keeping vibrations stable and resonant. Because of the guitar's wood grain surface, you won't be sacrificing charming looks either. Whether you plan on playing onstage, in the studio, or by the back door, the Jim Dandy Deltoluxe maintains a sharp, historic appearance in any musician's hands.

Traditional nato neck

The Jim Dandy Deltoluxe's smooth nato neck combines a dovetail neck joint and a "C"-shaped profile for maximum maneuverability, not to mention a semi-gloss finish for lighting-fast movements along the instrument's walnut fingerboard. Speaking of which, onboard fretboard side markets and white dot inlays keep fretting accurate during jam sessions while maintaining a recognizable, authentic appearance.

Vintage appointments supply a classic porch-pickin’ feel

Like its iconic shape and tonewood design, the Jim Dandy Deltoluxe’s onboard hardware and fixtures pay homage to its age-old instrumental ancestor. A genuine walnut bridge with a compensated saddle pair with a synthetic bone nut for reliable string positioning and authentic vibration transfer. Likewise, onboard nickel hardware and open gear die-cast tuning machines ensure solid intonation support and an authentic vintage look. It’s all topped off with a smooth semi-gloss finish — ensuring a smooth feel and advanced handling that comes as close as possible to the original model.

Gretsch Jim Dandy Deltoluxe Concert Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • 6-string acoustic-electric guitar inspired by the iconic “Rex” mail-order instrument series
  • Lightweight laminate tonewoods develop strong projection and clarity characteristic of old-timey flat-top models
  • Onboard Gretsch Deltoluxe Soundhole pickup produces authentic electric tone for stage and studio use
  • X-style bracing pattern for enhanced vibration and resonance

  • Easy-playing 12-inch radius walnut fingerboard with 20 vintage-style frets

Reviews

Fun, well built, little guitar.
I was looking for a fun replacement for a Gretsch A/E that I sold a few months back. I tried at least 6 or 7 different options and kept coming back to this one. Even considering others that were three times the price. It has a really cool, unique tone plugged in and performs well unplugged. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking outside the box for a quirky, small bodied guitar. The quality at this price point is unmatched.

Jim Dandy concert
Well I will say the guitar looks killer!
The binding and dual finish top and sides are really cool. Wish it came with a gig bag. I love the new concert size more volume and projection and still very comfortable to play. Really cool vintage sound right out of the box. They upgraded to a pin style bridge looking like a better design. Great guitar for picking and slide playing. Lots of Mojo

A great little (medium?) acoustic-electric!
I have mostly played electric guitar, but I wanted an acoustic-electric for certain songs/genres, and I wanted one that I would not have to baby too much humidity-wise, so I tried out a bunch of laminate and carbon fiber acoustic-electrics, and this was my favorite. It looks and sounds great both unplugged and plugged in, according to myself and to several musician acquaintances who have seen and heard it so far. It arrived quickly and very well-packaged, and it sounded great out of the box. Smooth fret edges; no buzzing; action felt just right for my preference. I love that Gretsch makes this in this concert size. I am short, and a dreadnought can feel a little unwieldy, and I wanted a bit bigger sound than a parlor size, so this concert size is just right.
Just DANDY
I bought this Gretsch as a "living room" guitar. Something to lean against the cabinet and pick up anytime the mood strikes. It's perfect!. Easy to play. Stays in tune, Sounds good. You can't beat it. Who knows, maybe I'll get another one for the other rooms in the house.

Insane Quality for the Money
I am totally blown away by this guitar. For the price I didnt expect much and now I am in love with it and cant put it down. Gretsch crushed it. It stays in tune perfectly. It feels great and has a super twangy tone. Plugged in with a tiny bit of dirt it is so fun. The tone on slide is amazing. I have a nice guitar collection with some expensive fancy guitars and for the last few weeks this is the only one I have played. It is stunningly good for the price. Don't make the mistake of getting it without the pickup. It is SO MUCH fun plugged in.,
