A Spellbinding Addition to the Omen Lineup

With its bewitching burl top and hair-raising Heretic pickups, the Schecter Omen Elite-6 is one guitar you won't be able to keep your hands off for long. The Omen series has been a longstanding favorite to players and customers here at Sweetwater, and we feel the Omen Elite marks a notable upgrade in all the right directions. Back are the substantial-feeling mahogany-maple construction and streamlined electronics. But factor in a slew of visual upgrades, a fast-as-ever Thin "C" neck, and mean-sounding set of hot-rodded Heretic pickups, and this Elite is one Omen that's too good to pass up.

Poplar burl top

One of the Omen Elite-6's standout features has to be its deeply figured poplar burl top. As a tonewood, poplar — a common alder alternative — is known for its light weight, resonant qualities, and meaty tone. And combined with its compelling visual figuring and rich mahogany complement, it's a solid foundation for stage metal to arena rock.

Rust Grey Black body/neck backing

Not only does the Omen Elite-6's satin gray backing feel great on the hands and against the skin. But it really brings out the natural chestnut and auburn highlights in the mahogany and maple, for a one-of-a-kind visual treat on a wall or slung over the shoulder.

Schecter Heretic pickups

The Omen Elite-6 ups the ante over the original Omen-6 with stock pickups that are ready for action. Clean, the Schecter Heretics give you punchy, compressed rhythm tones and fluid neo-prog lead sweetness. But crank up the gain, and the Heretics deliver a hefty crunch that holds its own against metal guitars costing twice as much.

Quality black hardware

Apart from its clear speed knobs, the Omen Elite-6 is murdered out head to toe in black hardware for a distinctive stage look. Looking for a guitar that makes an entrance? You'll want to check out the Schecter Omen Elite-6 from Sweetwater.

Schecter Omen Elite-6 Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Figured poplar/mahogany body really makes an entrance
  • Speedy Thin "C" maple neck with body-matching headstock
  • 14"-radius rosewood fingerboard with 24 Jumbo nickel-silver frets
  • Satiny Rust Grey Black body/neck backing
  • Hot-rodded Schecter Heretic pickups

  • Clear speed knobs

Reviews

My 3rd Schecter
I am ecstatic with this guitar! From the finish to the sound to the feel, it's perfect for me. The Heretic pickups are on par with boutique pickups like the Seymour Duncan Distortion or the Dimarzio Super Distortion. I am an old head, so I love the rosewood fretboard and mahogany body. The poplar burl veneer is a wonderful finishing touch to this artful machine. And as advertised, it was set up to play. I plan on buying another of this model, perhaps in a different finish. This guitar is worth having a pair.

Stellar Value!
Excellent fit and finish. Very comfortable neck. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard board. Solid tuners. Sounds great. This is a quality instrument. I also got the Schecter case to give it a good home.
Solid guitar for the money
Great guitar for the ...price range. I already like it more than my PRS which was almost twice the price.
love it
I'm loving this guitar so far. I love being able to finally play in lower tuning. Like Drop B and Drop A. Great guitar for this.
Pretty awesome by far the best in its price range
Let's get to the nitty gritty.

Pros:
First off all of the specs you would expect on a $ model. Which is amazing, Tusq Nut, solid pickups (in my opinion more versatile than the Apocalypse models), great neck feel very slim, and feels just perfect. Great sustain and cuts through the mix. Higher specs than my more expensive guitars and just as fun to play.

Cons:
I found a hole in the inlay at the 7th fret in mine. Pretty upsetting because I love me this guitar.
If you love that Red or Blue color, don't expect for it to be this vibrant except under light. I played an outdoor show during the day it popped but indoors this thing almost looks black. Don't let the Sweetwater lights fool you here. It' not that vibrant indoors.

Would I suggest it? Yea it's phenomenal not only better than other guitars in its price range but can compete with the Pro series models,Apocalypse and more. (I came from an Apocalypse that wasn't as good as this.)
