A Singlecut McCarty 594 for the Masses

The Singlecut McCarty 594 is one of Paul Reed Smith's most popular models, and now, thanks to the PRS SE McCarty 594 Singlecut, it's finally accessible to the masses. This exquisite solidbody electric guitar boasts legendary PRS quality and playability. A resonant mahogany body and an eye-grabbing flame maple veneer top ensure a tone and look that's guaranteed to exceed your expectations. You get a comfortable Pattern Vintage neck carve with an easy-playing 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard, along with a longer 24.594-inch scale length for a feel that's like no other. The SE McCarty 594 Singlecut's 58/15 LT "S" pickups deliver vintage-tinged humbucking tones, while a 4-knob layout allows individual control of each pickup's volume and tone for maximum sonic versatility. You also get a high-quality PRS 2-piece bridge and PRS-designed tuners, plus attractive maple body binding and iconic PRS Birds fingerboard inlays. Finally, a durable, head-turning gloss poly finish ensures that the SE McCarty 594 Singlecut will look amazing for years to come.

Exceptional components

The SE McCarty 594 Singlecut boasts the top-shelf tonewoods PRS guitars are known for, including a resonant mahogany body and an eye-grabbing flame maple veneer top. Its mahogany neck features a comfortable asymmetrical Pattern Vintage profile, while its 22-fret, 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard facilitates effortless playability. And this guitar's strings will always feel silky smooth when playing and bending due to its 24.594-inch scale length, which is also where this model of McCarty gets its name.

PRS-designed 58/15 LT "S" humbucking pickups

The PRS SE McCarty 594 Singlecut's 58/15 LT "S" pickups balance vintage character with modern clarity to deliver the sweet yet articulate sound and rich harmonic overtones of vintage humbuckers. This is the warm and clear sonic elixir that propelled 58/15 LT "S" pickups to the top of many guitarists' favorite PAF-style pickup lists. Beyond that, the lower wire turns of 58/15 LT "S" pickups dish out clarity and nuance by the truckload. Featuring a meaty bridge pickup and neck pickup with the perfect amount of brightness, the 58/15 LT "S" set packs a real sonic punch, from chiming cleans to scorching leads. Guitarists at Sweetwater love these pickups. You will, too.

PRS quality in every guitar

All Paul Reed Smith guitars are designed for performance, right out of the case — and the SE McCarty 594 Singlecut is no exception. Constructed from high-quality tonewoods and components, PRS instruments carry on a commitment to quality that's been the brand's hallmark since 1985, when Paul Smith began crafting guitars for some of the most elite players in the world. In fact, you'll often see a PRS SE in the touring rigs of the most well-respected PRS artists in the world.

Reviews

Two Snaps and a Bueno To Pat Walsh & Sweetwater
My experience with Sweetwater was very refreshing particularly in this day and age where the words "Customer Service" and actually speaking to a real human do not exist.
My Sales Engineer Pat Walsh was very informative on many different makes and models of guitar and amps, but was in no way pushy or trying to upsell. He kept me informed the entire time of the delivery date as my selection of guitar (PRS SE McCarty 594 single cut) was on back order.
As promised by Pat my PRS SE McCarty 954 did not disappoint. The PLEK service Sweetwater performed was awesome the intonation was spot on the fret dressing was immaculate.
Thanks to Pat and the entire Sweetwater team

Amazing Guitar
Amazing Guitar. Period. For the price, it is almost unbelievable. Amazing set up right out of the box. I gifted this to a band mate. I have a few year old McCarty S2 which I have been been very happy with. This guitar was superior in every way. Better tone, better look, better neck feel, the pick-ups sound better. I had this for a few weeks before I gave it to him and I was straight up jealous. He almost got my S2... One of of the other guys we play with frequently who is a Les Paul addict (and a Luthier), said this was more Les Paul than most of his. Very hard to tell the difference between this and a newer 59 LP on a recording. Overall blown away. Had a some minor electrical stuff, which is to be expected with overseas guitars in my experience, hell I had to have my S2 gutted. But 5 star instrument period. As always an excellent experience with Sweetwater. And Nick Graham made it super easy. Shout out to Nick and Sweetwater. I switched to Sweetwater a few years ago, and will never buy another instrument anywhere ever again! Cheers!

Read this before spending $
Well unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to find this guitar before my return deadline so I had to sell it. But this guitar literally to my ears sounds 1:1 with a les Paul. I mean it is identical. I tried closing my eyes and listening to the recordings and just could not find a difference. This guitar plays and sounds better than the LP at half the price. I found the neck pickup to sound A LOT better than the LP. The low output pickups are really freaking nice at articulating each note. I'm a NUT about how guitars are set up and sound. So is Paul Reed Smith so I assume that's why I'm into his guitars! Anyway thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
Music background: Professional musician for around 6 years
Exceptional guitar with amazing build quality!!!
25 year player here.
This guitar right out of the box is incredible.
I oiled the fretboard and changed the strings to what I use, and let me tell you this takes the cake!

Pro's
-exceptional build quality for a fraction of the S2 or core models.
-pickups offer a wide range of tones from the classic LP sound to a vintage tele with a simple pull of the tone knob.
- 18/1 vintage tuners
-amazing veneer top with stunning a stunning finish
Con's
- it's hard to put down, now all the others just sit there.

Thank you Alex!
Music background: 25 year player
I am a guitar tech and this thing is AWESOME!
Been a guitar tech for 25 years and have worked on a lot of guitars. Great bang for buck. Looks great, feels great, sounds great and is a reasonable price. The pickups are great and only thing I am changing is the pickup rings to creme and the pot knobs to a more modern PRS knob look. Frets are great and action just needed a little adjusting. I have worked on thousands of guitars and I understand them well and see the best there is. But I see no better guitars for the money than these and Schecter IMO. I have owned plenty of 10 top PRS's and love them. But I don't like playing out or really owning super high end, price wise, guitars. These are not too expensive to where you worry about dinging them....that's half the battle.

You don't even have to play guitar to know that PRS instruments are in a league of their own. With their exquisitely figured tops and premium appointments, each PRS is a playable work of art. But it goes way deeper than the surface. Every time Paul visits Sweetwater, we get a deeper look at his amazing instruments. We've even hosted several PRS Custom Shop events, complete with Paul's personal Wood Library! Whether they're his most affordable SE electric guitars, top-quality acoustics, or amps, it's always amazing to see what PRS comes up with. What's more, we keep a ton of PRS guitars in our amazing Guitar Showroom, so the staff at Sweetwater can get hands on with all of their latest models. We'd love to tell you all about them.
