"Fixed" my U-Bass!
Nearly half a year ago I got a U-Bass to play at church since I grew tired of lugging my ten-pound 5-string bass back and forth every week. I loved the convenience of the U-Bass, but the black poly strings that came installed didn't hold their tune very well, were tricky to get in tune (too easy to overshoot), and the output of each string varied wildly compared to the others (the D and G strings were about 2-3x louder than the E and A). They also buzzed quite a bit, even with the truss rod adjusted to its limit. Finally, the uke was just really really quiet acoustically and could never be used in an acoustic ensemble or even around a campfire alongside a guitar.

Once I installed these every single one of those problems went away. The tuning is both easy and stable now. The output of the guitar through the pickup is consistent from string to string, and much stronger across the board. It has about 3-4x the acoustic resonance as well. The buzz is completely gone as the strings are thinner. It sounds much more balanced tonally and has a lot more presence. The strings are nice and bright due to their silver plating and they look stunning on the uke.

It's recommended to install a new nut when switching from nylon/poly to the wound strings, but I haven't experienced any buzz, tuning instability, or other issues that would prompt me to make such a change, and after a quick truss rod adjustment, these strings are right at home.

Turns the Kala into a musical instrument
Short review; the original Kala 'rubber band' strings are thuddy and don't ring. Yep, I know, part of the Kala sound and not the worst thing. However these strings provide a clear, intonated and sustaining note that makes them a game changer and turns the Kala into a more musical instrument for our needs.

I just love them!
The poly strings that come with ubasses, specially the Thunderguts are too sticky. There are better poly ones like the Thunder browns, which i still use on another ubass but with my solid body? These just sound and feel amazing. More balanced sound. And you can funk with them since the sound is closer to the regular basses. Love them. Pricy but worth the money.

Was a little hesitant to put these on my ubass, but I am pleased with how they sound.
