Though the sounds the Bass Synth molds may be complex, creating them is fairly straightforward. Use the Shape button to establish the foundational waveform, then adjust the Mod and Envelope knobs to set the amount of modulation present in the sound and the filter response, respectively. Further tweak your tone with help from the Mix, Cutoff, and Resonance controls, where you can blend the dry and wet signals, manage the cutoff frequency, and inject your tone with an extra boost. The MXR Bass Synth is capable of bass sounds that are out of this world, no doubt, but it also provides hours of joyful and surprising sonic experimentation.
