Great Amp Head from Hartke

If you're looking for a lightweight, powerful head to give your amp a killer boost in volume and tone, the TX300 Bass Amplifier is your answer. This compact head weighs only 5 pounds but packs a big punch. It features 300 watts housed in a durable aluminum chassis, so you can dial up great tone and volume with clarity and deep low end and feel. And here at Sweetwater, we really appreciate the rugged anodized aluminum chassis that ensures years of worry-free use.

Tone shaping at your fingertips

The TX300 features an active 3-band EQ with Hartke's Shape circuits that give you amazing control over tone. The Drive knob can add just a touch of warmth to your sound, or you can use it to crank it up to complete fuzz. In addition, the onboard compressor evens out note volume, adds punch to your sound, and protects your cab when you decide to use aggressive slapping techniques. You will also love the Shape control feature that continuously sweeps a filter through various frequencies, letting you shape your tone in really unique ways.

Great features for jamming and recording

The TX300 also features a balanced XLR direct output that lets you connect to a mixer or a recording device. And with a headphone output and an 1/8" input, you can jam along to tracks while in the comfort of your home studio or on the road.

Hartke TX300 Bass Amplifier Features:

  • 300-watt amp head gives you stellar tone and power
  • Durable aluminum chassis for years of worry-free use
  • Active 3-band EQ with Hartke's Shape circuits gives you amazing control over tone

Reviews

Plenty of Punch with Good Features
I paired this amp with a Fender Rumble 115 cabinet, and so far I have been really impressed. With the on board compressor, drive, and shape controls I can really dial in on my sound. I have absolutely no issues being heard over the rest of the band during rehearsals , and for small gigs this amp has enough power to fill the room.

Great for home use
Possibly useful in small performance environments or as part of a larger system or studio.

Great tone. Works well with Zoom ms-60b+ usbc processor pedal but just alone this amp produces great fuzz tone with the drive knob and the shape knob can further sculpt the sonic profile.

It works good with all of my bass guitars including my battery operated Yamaha Trbx304 with active electronics and a 5 way modelling switch for different performance preset profiles.

This amp auto switches between active and passive guitars without needing to plug into a separate jack.

Be aware that this amp is not a super loud amp pushing a 1x12" homebuilt sealed 1 cubic foot bass cabinet at 8 ohms. It is suitable for home use and probably could cause quite a nuisance. But this amp is not designed, as is, for use with an even moderately loud drummer. No. It might be suitable for a very quiet group operating under extreme sound level restraints: as in "Momma don't want no bass players around here ….." In these strict conditions this amp would probably not get a player in a lot of trouble.

Heavy metal in your mind would be good but this amp isn't loud enough for a metal band.

This is a great little amp for home use and other sonically restricted environments. The maximum loudness level is going to be diminished by the other louder instruments. It is more than perfect for practice and hobbyist use.

2 significant features of this great little amp that make it great: 1) It has 2 speaker outputs that can both be used at the same time, 1/4" and speakon. This enables hooking up two 8 ohm cabs, and utilizing the full 300 watts of power at this 4 ohm load.

And 2), This amp has the precious 'mute' button located next to the input jack and this is the players friend.

Altogether this amp is probably a great option for the home player or the performer that can use its limited power without problem.

I myself use it at home and it is the best bass amp I have ever used. I use it at home only.

Head till dead
Great head and will last a lifetime!, It's lightweight and fits in a standard laptop case since there were no cases available thru sweetwater unfortunately, but this has plenty of power and options to dish out all kinds of low-end for any venue. Just played thru it this past weekend without a hitch, Plenty of external connections and so portable, i love it with my 4x10 hartke cab....I have been looking at this for a while and glad i finally made the purchase.
Music background: bassist for 40yrs, rock/metal/blues/jazz
Great little amp and only 5 pounds!
I looked at a lot of choices before buying this one. I needed something strong enough to power all of the three cabs I have and not be as heavy as the Hartke LH 1000 that I bought previously, and still have the sound and features that the 1000 has. The TX 300 checks all the boxes and then some. I tried it out at rehearsal last night and it performed great through my Fender 4x10 cab. I plan to pair it with a Fender 2x10 cab for small venues so I can easily transport it. Can't say enough about the amp and the great customer service from my sales engineer Logan Miller!

Universal Amp
FAN IS NOT LOUD!
I use the TX300 through a 1x15 30% open back cabinet with a Tone Tubby Superman. Sound very nice with both basses (A 2013 Rickenbacker 4003 or a 2007 USA Peavey Foundation).

Fuss is cool and very usable
Shape is your friend
Compressor is usable for evenness and or tone shaping.

Now for icing on top… works beautiful with some knob tweaks through the same cab with a pedal board (with Spring Reverb, Boss DD-8 Delay, Fender Pugilist) and a 1994 Anniversary USA Fender Aluminum body Strat.

Freaking killer clean sounds and refined drive sound
(reminds me of my Old Digitech Legend 2 rig from way back when)

A plus for those that want tone without breaking the back: the cab is light with the neodymium speaker, TX 300 fits in the back of it with the cords. The cab is a small enclosure for a 15. So no bulking carrying
