Factory fitted with two 8C-DA modules
This ADA-8XR has each of its two digital I/O slots factory fitted with a Prism Sound 8C-DA analog line out module. Each 8C-DA card furnishes eight electronically balanced analog output channels from the ADA-8XR via eight male XLR connectors. To preclude the A/D converter from reaching full scale, even when the input level significantly exceeds the selected input range, Prism Sound’s proprietary Overkiller progressive limiter is available on each channel. Input line-up level and fine trim controls for each channel are accessible via the ADA-8XR Menu System.
The 8C-PTHDX Pro Tools HDX I/O module
This ADA-8XR is preconfigured with Prism Sound’s 8C-PTHDX Pro Tools HDX I/O module, which offers flexible input and output routing for Pro Tools HD users. It takes the place of one Avid HD I/O, supporting eight channels of I/O at up to 192kHz. Equipped with a pair of DigiLink Mini ports, the 8C-PTHDX guarantees compatible connectivity with Avid HDX and HD Native cards. The 8C-PTHDX installs into either the upper or lower digital I/O slot of your ADA-8XR.
Masterful clocking
The Prism Sound ADA-8XR functions impeccably as a master clock for your system, providing the stability and jitter rejection you need for pristine clarity and rock-solid imaging — no external clock source necessary. The ADA-8XR supports multiple sample rates with independent paths to facilitate different sample rates being sent and received concurrently.
Configurable and expandable Modular design
The ADA-8XR boasts a modular design allowing the unit to function as either an 8-in/8-out, a 16-input, or a 16-output converter. Prism Sound also makes AES, FireWire, and Pro Tools HDX digital I/O cards. The ADA-8XR’s modularity protects your investment by providing flexibility when expanding your system by combining the basic system options and the range of available digital interfaces. Whether you require just a few channels of high-quality conversion or a large multitrack rig, the Prism Sound ADA-8XR is configurable to suit your workflow now — and in the future.
