Powerful, Inspiring, and Flexible

With endless avenues of digital production, virtual instruments, and DAW-based composition, it’s easy to feel a bit of analysis paralysis when faced with so many ways to create, produce, and manage your sounds. Behringer’s Swing controller is designed to provide a flexible suite of powerful recording and performance tools without compromising precious home-studio real estate. Each of its 32 keys detects velocity and aftertouch, giving you plenty of room for expressivity, while individual touch strips for both pitch-bending and modulation offer nuanced control with satisfying tactility. Onboard chord and scale modes are supplemented by an arpeggiator and a 64-step sequencer, the latter of which features eight notes of polyphonic sequencing, and chords can trigger up to 16 simultaneous notes from a single key. Synthesists and producers at Sweetwater appreciate the versatile offering of connectivity options, including micro USB-B for use with your DAW of choice, a 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O to use with additional keyboards, CV jacks for Eurorack, a 3.5-millimeter sync I/O, and even a 1/4-inch footswitch input for additional sustain!

Behringer Swing 32-key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller Features:

  • 32-note keyboard detects velocity and aftertouch for accurate, nuanced performance
  • 64-step sequencer includes 8-note polyphonic sequencing for harmonically rich composition
  • Onboard arpeggiator streamlines production for additional rhythm and syncopation
  • Style/pattern control offers eight options for arpeggiator orders, as well as eight slots for saved sequencer programs
  • Dedicated rhythm controls include a tap tempo pad, tempo adjustment knob, and 8-option scale control for instant time signature adjustment
  • Chord mode supports up to 16 notes of simultaneous playback to create rich melodic movements
  • Touch strips for pitch bend and modulation enable nuanced expression with ergonomic tactility
  • Transport controls allow for straightforward track management, range control, and more
  • Comprehensive connectivity includes micro USB-B, 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O, 3.5mm Sync I/O, 1/4-inch footswitch in, and 3 CV jacks for flexible interoperative hardware and software use

Good service
The Henry brothers always buy from Sweetwater because of service you get on the products they sell. Great company.

My new favorite toy!
The Behringer Swing is a treat! Super easy to set up and hook up; super easy to use, if you're the sort who likes to fiddle with buttons and switches and spend some time figuring out what each control does. If you are looking for a really inexpensive MIDI controller/sequencer/arpeggiator to drive a Eurorack CV system or MIDI gear -- or both! -- you can go from opening the box to having a lot of fun in less than half an hour.

Admittedly, the user's manual leaves much to be desired, as I've found is typical with Behringer products. It looks thick only because it repeats everything in eleven languages. The help system for the associated Control Tribe software (a free download from Behringer.com), by way of comparison, makes the user's manual look downright verbose. But if you don't mind taking the time to experiment and learn how things work with minimalist supporting documentation, the Behringer Swing will reward you with a *lot* of control at a very nice price point.

Right now I'm using it to drive both my analog CV and MIDI digital gear with great results, and digging into the innards of the Control Tribe data structure. I can't wait to see what I think of to do with this thing tomorrow!

Plays well with others
Package delivered in on time and in perfect shape.
Just got it and am using it with my rack system using its CV outputs. The MIDI in and out connections are great and extremely useful. Top is plastic and the bottom or frame is metal. I power it using the USB on my laptop with the cord that was included, adaptor for a wall outlet needs to be purchased separately. It is great for my little home studio and fun to make and shape new sounds with. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Functional but fussy
Don't try to use a Behringer nine volt power block with this keyboard. Although it says it accepts nine volt, it needs 12 to work. Luckily, my Sweetwater rep set me right on this (no charge!) I've been able to use the keyboard in live performances with no serious problems, but I still haven't figured out how to use most of the functions. Now, I'm a percussionist, not a keyboardist, so I'm sure I'm part of the problem, but it's not exactly intuitive.

So far, I use the Swing to drive an mini Korg FM synthesizer and it makes playing the keyboard percussion voices much easier. I haven't yet succeeded in using it for composition with my MacBook.
