Compared to Doepfer’s other controllers, the PK88 is a no-frills, purpose-built machine that eschews excessive control and modulation options to deliver a lifelike keyboard that won’t sacrifice quality for portability. Its premier TP/40GH keybed features weighted hammer-action keys and cutting-edge, proprietary hammer mechanics, allowing you to play with the expressivity and finesse of the most vaunted acoustic pianos. A paired-down I/O suite includes a 5-pin MIDI output and USB 2.0 connector for full-speed data transfer, including MIDI over USB. You’ll also find two 1/4-inch jacks: one for a foot controller, and another for a double footswitch, ensuring no lost opportunities for expression. Keyboardists at Sweetwater appreciate the meticulous engineering behind the velocity calibration of the PK88, setting a higher value for the conversion of hammer action to MIDI, producing the most accurate, authentic playing experience possible. Finally, the flight case comes with a removable lid, making transportation and storage a breeze!
