State-of-the-art design
The BB15-MK3 was designed to perform comparably to a larger subwoofer, but from a compact, 15-inch sub. Indeed, its 15-inch, long-excursion, direct-radiating neodymium motor driver churns out plenty of chest-thumping low end down to 40Hz. Sure, an 18-inch sub could probably get you down to 30Hz, but given that the BB15-MK3 weighs only 70 pounds (far less than a typical 18-incher's 110-plus pounds), we think it's a pretty fair tradeoff. Moreover, the BB15-MK3's amplifier is loaded at the subwoofer's interior port end, employing air flow at high output for added cooling.
