Mic, Line, and MIDI — Oh My!
Set off a whirlwind of switching activity with the Whirlwind AB-8. This 8-channel bidirectional switcher for mic, line, and MIDI signals can be configured individually or assigned to a master control, which is controllable via its front panel or an optional footswitch. Each channel is configurable as a one-in/two-out, a two-out/one-in, or a mixture of both, and the front panel indicator lights make it easy to see the status of each channel. It’s also easy to chain multiple units with the master control or using the Control Voltage input. The AB-8 also features an auto-switch function that can be a lifesaver during live performances. It automatically switches to redundant copies of backing tracks, enabling seamless live performance even when there’s a temporary signal loss. The Whirlwind AB-8 is also a useful tool for studio engineers, with the ability to switch back and forth between tracking and mixing setups effortlessly. Sweetwater studio and live sound engineers agree: the AB-8’s ease of use and smart redundancy capabilities will greatly improve (and potentially save) your live performances and tracking sessions.
