Stylish, Low-profile Pop Filter from Telefunken

Keep plosives and pops out of your vocal performance with the PL05 Pop Filter from Telefunken. The PL05 features a curved frame that fits over most side-address microphones used in studio, broadcast, and video applications. With a low-profile design, the PL05 is ideal for video work where a minimal footprint is needed. Lightweight elastic bands let you easily attach the PL05 directly to your mic. The PL05 fits most mics with a 1.65" to 2.36" (42mm to 60mm) diameter. And here at Sweetwater, we love that the PL05 does not require any additional clamps, mounts, or stands – a nice feature when you are recording or performing and want to stay focused on your performance. Finally, a Telefunken logo in the lower left corner represents a company known for its quality mics and mic products.

Reviews

The Perfect Pop Filter
I use this regularly on several microphones. I plan to buy more. It works extremely well for combating plosives. It is much better than the clamp on the stand pop filters.

I use this specifically on:
sE X1S
sE 2200a II
Warm WA-14
Microphone Parts T67
Audio Technica 2020
Music background: Sound Engineer, Bassist, Vocalist
Really liking this filter
I'm a voice-over talent and enjoying everything about this product. I've always used the standard round filter with the flexible gooseneck and have always been frustrated with not being able to see my scripts with both eyes. This filter has solved that problem. It fits perfectly onto my Neumann TLM 103 with no added visual impediments - like it's not even there. As far as the complaint of some that it's thinner than a standard pop-filter, I have always had my microphone slightly to the side as opposed to directly in front of my mouth so that's not an issue. Wish I'd gotten one sooner.

Awesome!!
Not sure what the negative reviews are about, this thing is awesome!! Works great for a side address microphone and the metal screen is a nice touch. I use it for my Twitch livestream. Would recommend!!
Great for VO!
This "pop filter" won't work any better or worse than any other kind of screen or filter. Microphone placement is absolutely the most important factor in avoiding plosives. That said, this will help like any other kind of filter.

What it does better on a side address microphone is lower the profile of the circular screens and allow for easier reading of the script! It's simply less obtrusive.

I'm guessing that it WILL help provide some moisture from reaching the diaphragm of the mic. That can be detrimental to the performance of the microphone over time.

I've noticed no degradation or attenuation of high end while using it. I have one in my booth on a U87ai and another in my control room on a TLM103. No problems mounting either one.

I gave one of these to a voice artist who makes well into 6 figures and he prefers it to the circular screen that he previously used.

5 Stars!

Unworthy of the Telefunken brand
This is a generic pop filter that has the Telefunken brand on it. Considering the price, this should come as no surprise. I was hoping there would be something unique about its construction at least, but nope. Get this if you're strapped for cash, but otherwise get a Stedman or Avantone.
