A Conflagration of Totally Tubular Tone
Three stompboxes in one? It can’t be done! Don’t tell the team at Analog Alien because they’ve done it before, and they’ll do it again. In fact, they already have with the Alien Tone Dragon boost/overdrive/EQ pedal. A true analog pedal, the Alien Tone Dragon will set you up with all the fire you need for sonic domination. Its boost section provides guitarists with up to 18dB of clean boost. The overdrive circuit will blow smoke out of your nostrils when you turn it to 10. And to tie it all together, the sweet-sounding active tone circuit reins in the flames with a 3-band EQ. Use one effect at a time or parade them onstage all at once for an encompassing sonic experience. Now’s your chance to tame a dragon — or become one!

Ignite the boost for dragon-like power
Boost is often a helpful tool for gigging guitarists, whether they need more juice in their signal chain or want to see some smoke rising from the fretboard. The clean boost ranges from 1dB to 18dB of boost and won’t introduce unwanted tonal artifacts into your signal. This makes for an excellent boost for driving vintage amps into blissful overdrive.
Don’t play with fire — unless it’s an Alien Tone Dragon
You may have heard some of Analog Alien’s overdrive circuits before — we can tell you that the Alien Tone Dragon joins their ranks with flying colors. Incredibly expressive, the Dragon Fire overdrive circuit can provide an easy-going rock/blues crunch, or you can kick it into high gear for a full-blown wall of sonic fuzz. The best part? That transition only takes a few tweaks of the controls. From vintage-type fuzz to a focused and defined sound that bursts with tonal articulation, the Dragon Fire circuit has what you’re looking for. When you turn the In knob down, you can harness the boost to add extra oomph to the Dragon Fire. Sweetwater tip: try it on power chords and solos! Then, you can use the tone circuit to further shape and refine.
Picking a 3-band bone with tone
The third part of the Alien Tone Dragon’s power resides in the 3-band active tone circuit. Here, you can refine all the fire and brimstone with High, Mid, and Low controls with non-overlapping frequency bands. Boost or cut from -16dB to +16dB — you’ll have a wide array of tonal options to satiate your desire for fire.
