Take Studio-grade Condenser Sound Onstage

The Lewitt W9 capsule is a top-quality 1-inch true-condenser wireless purpose built to take the studio-quality definition, clarity, and detail of a traditional condenser mic onto the stage. Boasting impeccable feedback resistance, the W9 sports dual-layer protection that keeps your signal free from wind, moisture, and even vocal plosives. What’s more, switchable cardioid/supercardioid polar patterns allow the W9 to tackle applications far beyond vocal duties, with switchable attenuation and a 120Hz low-cut filter to tune your’s mic’s response further. And worry not, live sound engineers: the W9’s three switches are all located under the capsule’s grille, ensuring that no accidental activations occur mid-performance. If you’re eyeing a wireless condenser mic capsule that’s more than capable of delivering studio-grade sound, then Sweetwater strongly recommends homing in on the Lewitt W9.

Switch up your pattern

To excel in all stage and live sound applications, the W9 features a multi-pattern design that swaps between standard cardioid and supercardioid patterns. First up, the cardioid pattern provides a tight pattern that offers an impressive rejection of sources not directly in front of the microphone — perfect for standard vocal duties. However, supercardioid homes in even further with a tighter pattern, making them a superior choice for specific close-miked applications, in addition to sporting superior side rejection and improved isolation from room noise.

Versatile 12dB attenuator and low-cut switches

In addition to providing world-class studio-grade sound, the W9 comes equipped with a host of utility features to accommodate any scenario on stage. A built-in low-cut filter allows you to easily trim down the bass on signals with an excessive low-end response, resulting in a tighter, more coherent mix. Micing up a hot source? Simply activate the 12dB attenuation to rein it in with a more controlled volume level. Best of all, these controls (as well as the cardioid/supercardioid switch) are locked up tight under the capsule’s grille, ensuring that a performer on stage doesn’t accidentally enable them.

Stage or studio, there’s a Lewitt mic that’s perfect for the job

Since the fall of 2009, Lewitt microphones have made their way onto some of the biggest stages across Europe and America. Combining exceptional clarity and forward-thinking technical innovation at a remarkably accessible price point, these wonderful mics more than rival long-standing industry standards. What’s more, the selection runs the gamut from robust dynamic handheld models to top-notch studio condensers. Whether you’re looking for something for your next gig or your next recording session, a Lewitt microphone from Sweetwater is an excellent choice.

Reviews

Almost Perfect. Sounds fantastic.
This mic punches equal to other $ capsules all day long. It sounds GREAT! Almost a polished, broadcast quality, right out of the box. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. My only issues are, the logo is a little bit oppressive. It's bigger than the logo on any other capsule in my locker. It's also a bit on the heavy side. You don't really notice it up on stage, but in your hand, it's very...present. The upside of this is, it does not feel fragile at all. We are talking just a couple ounces, but noticeable heft. I find myself giving it to male vocalists more than females. It has no audio deficiencies I have found. If you are looking at higher end condenser capsules, it's highly recommended. I could see me becoming a "Lewitt guy" very easily.
