The MKII ACS1 leverages six amplifier models to provide you with an expansive tonal palette. Its three vintage models include the Deluxe Reverb-inspired Fullerton, the Bluesbreaker-inspired London, and the AC30-inspired Dartford. High-gain enthusiasts will appreciate the MKII ACS1’s modern offerings, which include the 5150-inspired Red, the Rockerverb-inspired Citrus, and the Dual Rec-inspired Tread. You can mix and match stereo amp combinations — with zero phase issues — by placing different models in the left and right channels. The MKII ACS1 includes amp-style Bass, Mid, and Treble controls for easy tone shaping, along with Presence and Resonance amp EQ controls.

The Walrus Audio Mako MKII ACS1 comes with 12 custom-engineered cabinet IRs designed to complement the amp models for maximum tonal flexibility. The stock IRs for the Fullerton, London, and Dartford amp models were crafted by David Hislop and Kenyon Reed at Tone Factor, while the stock IRs for the Red, Citrus, and Tread amp models were designed by Justin York at York Audio. And suppose you prefer using your own impulse responses. In that case, Sweetwater is pleased to report you’ll be able to load your IRs with the Walrus Audio app available via the company’s website. You can also dial in the size of your simulated room by way of the MKII ACS1’s onboard Room, Hall, and Spring reverbs, which include adjustable Room and Decay parameters.
Customizable boost
Just like putting a boost pedal at the end of your pedal chain to hit your amplifier harder, the MKII ACS1 features a switchable boost to take your tone over the top. And it’s customizable, too — click the switch on and adjust the Volume and Gain controls to fine-tune exactly how much of a boost you need. Press the Boost switch again to save your preferred settings and return to normal operation. You also get an adjustable noise gate that’s especially helpful in high-gain situations.
User presets and advanced MIDI integration
Once you’ve dialed in a great guitar tone with the Walrus Audio Mako MKII ACS1, you can save it to one of three preset slots — Red, Green, and Blue — for instant recall. And if you need more presets, you can access them via MIDI — you’ll be able to save and recall up to 128 presets this way.
