Your Home Theater’s Missing Keystone
The AMP 30 is Marantz's flagship 6-channel power amplifier built for listeners who want to experience the full scope of their home theater setup. Rated at 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and built on the same platform as the critically acclaimed AMP 10, it delivers clean, controlled power to even the most complex speaker configurations. Pair it with the Marantz AV30 preamplifier, and you have the foundation of an elite home theater system. Add a second AMP 30, and you can scale all the way up to 11.2 channels, enough for even the most ambitious builds. Bi-amp and BTL modes provide additional flexibility to push individual speakers harder or drive woofer and tweeter sections independently. Whatever your setup is, or wherever you want to take it, the AMP 30 is built to drive it with authority.

Current feedback circuit design
When a recording captures the crack of a snare drum or the attack of a picked guitar string, that information arrives faster than most amplifier circuits can cleanly process it. This is because most amplifier designs use a voltage feedback topology, which decreases bandwidth as gain increases. The AMP 30 uses a current feedback circuit instead, which responds to error currents rather than error voltages and eliminates this gain/bandwidth tradeoff entirely. The result is an amplifier that stays wide open at higher gain settings, so the fine detail and dynamic snap of high-resolution audio reach your speakers exactly as recorded.

Two ways to push the amp further
The AMP 30 offers two advanced connection modes for listeners who want to extract maximum performance from their speakers. Bi-amp mode dedicates separate amplifier channels to a speaker's woofer and tweeter terminals, eliminating the counter-electromotive force, or back-EMF, that a working woofer can feed back into the tweeter circuit. BTL (Bridge) mode takes a different approach, combining two channels into a single feed and doubling the output to 400 watts into 4 ohms, giving power-hungry speakers the headroom they need to perform without strain. Both modes are configurable per channel pair directly on the rear panel of the AMP 30; no additional cabling from the preamplifier is required.
Marantz: a legacy of home entertainment excellence
One of the original architects of hi-fi amplification, Saul Marantz founded the company that bears his name in 1953. In the ensuing decades, Marantz established state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Japan and cemented a reputation for outstanding audio quality in music reproduction and home cinema. The warm, detailed, and highly musical sound of a Marantz is the result of a number of factors, including advanced research and design, uncompromising build quality with premium electronic components, and rigorous testing of every element of every product. Proprietary Marantz technologies, such as the Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module (HDAM), impart enhanced dimensionality to the Marantz sound. Today, the latest HDAM SA-2 technology is at the heart of the amplification circuitry in the company’s flagship products. The highest-quality D/A converters and clock jitter reducers are specified to decode high-resolution music files with unerring accuracy. Gold-plated RCA terminals ensure that corrosion won’t degrade signals as products age. Custom toroidal transformers help regulate power for consistent performance and superior sound. And copper-plated chassis are used to eliminate possible electronic interference. These are but a few of the finer points that set Marantz components apart from the crowd. Sweetwater is proud to offer you this esteemed line of outstanding home audio-video products.
