If you have 4 or 5 boards in your rig, you need this. Setting the levels is so easy, and it has tons of headroom. Those blinding blue lights are easy to see so you can run one or all boards and mute anything. I run into a focusrite 18i20 and into a set of Yamaha monitors, so practice and recording is always hooked up. I even run an effects loop out of it for my old Juno 106, and brought new life to it. The KL-8 made it easy to play different combinations of boards together. I may but a second KL-8 and add more boards yet. Great product! Love it and it looks bitchin too.

I never write reviews...but l had to on this one..first time l used it l was feeling it.....your keyboard sounds more accurately than before....nice piece of gear

I play two or three keyboards in a band, sometimes hook up an iPad-based synthesizer, and like having a local monitor to check the keyboard mix going to FOH. I had a cobbled-together approach that was messy so started looking for a rack-mounted 1U mixer to bring it all together. Jeremy, my sales engineer, helped me understand the range of products Sweetwater carries in this category. This Radial mixer is a dream machine with four line-level inputs, an aux channel send/receive, and an insert capability, with everything in stereo. The fourth channel also supports USB-based MIDI and digital audio, perfect for running tablet or laptop synths. There are separate stereo (dual XLR) outputs for monitor and for mains, each of which can be switched to mono mode (e.g., if you have just a mono monitor). It's super quiet and solidly built. To me, it is definitely worth the price.

I had been using a small 8 channel mixer on stage and in my home studio for my keyboard rigs. Our sound engineer one day told me hey look at this KL-8, it will give you a more pure sound out of your keyboards. And Geez was he ever right! The KL-8 provides crystal clear sound back to the monitors and/or FOH! Switching to these line mixers was the absolute best move. They can be linked together for more than 4 channels, and they provide great USB connectivity to a Mac (can't speak for a PC). If you use IEMs it even has a feature that you can bring your vocal monitor mix inputs into the KL-8 via the aux channel and a set a switch to NOT route that vocal monitor mix back out your KL-8 mains (which would be a disaster feedback/loop wise). Thus when you listen through your IEMS from the phone jack you hear your keys AND the vocal monitor mix but only the keys are going to FOH. Incredibly useful feature which prevents you from having to buy an IEM transmitter/receiver if you are stationary like most keyboard players. You won't be disappointed!

What struck me was using the included headphone amp for my IEMs. I noticed subtleties in my keyboard sound that I had no idea were there. It wasn't inexpensive, but it definitely makes a fabulous difference. The old adage, "buy once, cry once" was easily proven with this purchase. Nice job, Radial!
