Amp History, Tech Articles & Schematics (No CD
Great technical and historical addition to one's library collection. Thanks to Aspen Pittman and Groove Tubes. The only drawback is that the book is listed as including a "CD" of schematics, but isn't included in my copy. However, most, if not all of those schematic files are easily obtained elsewhere.
Music background: Bassist, Guitarist, Frustrated Audio Amateur
Must read for the tube amp aficionado.
I've bought and read this long ago. It stands the test of time. It's superb. Even if you're just a regular "Joe" tube amp lover/connoisseur, player, or an amp tech, this should be in your library if not on your coffee table.
Pleasantly Surprised.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found it was much, much
larger than I thought it was going to be. The last edition of that book I
had the opportunity to use (The Tube Amp Book) was a standard size and the schematics were difficult for an old guy to see. Blowing them up on a copier wasn't much help as that just made a fuzzy larger schematic with values and component notations could not be read easily, or at all. This edition features crisp, clean full size schematics that one can work with.
