Three pairs of drumsticks and mallets are included, covering a range of orchestral instruments to keep players equipped and sounding their best. It begins with a set of SD1 general snare drumsticks, shaped with round wooden tips that are ideal for concert snare performances and rhythmic precision practice at home or in the classroom. The final two pairs of mallets hail from Vic Firth’s American Custom series: The keyboard M5 mallets rubber heads with medium hardnesses, ideal for marimba, vibraphone, and xylophone applications. Next are the keyboard M14 mallets, treated to soft, 1-1/4-inch poly heads that are perfect for specific usage with xylophones. The Vic Firth Protege pack is working great for my beginning band percussionists. The kids think the bags and sticks are cool - like a "real drummer" and I love them too - the sticks are perfect for beginning band and they are learning to be responsible for their sticks - not always an easy thing for my percussionists.
