3+1 compensating valve design promotes an elite playing experience
Like most lower brass instruments, euphoniums tend to play slightly sharp in their lower registers. To counteract this, the Q41S comes complete with a fully compensating 3+1 valve configuration with a 0.591-inch to 0.661-inch dual-bore design that fortifies the horn’s lower register with improved intonation. When you engage the fourth valve, a second set of tubing opens, allowing you to play low notes with proper intonation.
