Hybrid maple shell
The heart of this Absolute Hybrid Maple floor tom consists of its 7-ply, 6.2mm hybrid maple shell. Constructed with three inner and three outer plies of maple and a core ply of wenge, this formula altogether produces luxuriously clear tones that sound wonderful in any genre of music, at any volume. Your drumming and your music have never sounded better.
World-class hardware
Yamaha includes an ample amount of amazing hardware with the Absolute Hybrid Maple floor tom. For example, 3mm aluminum die-cast hoops and hook lugs give you rock-solid tuning stability plus all the attack you can muster, while the Y.E.S.S. III mounting system ensures rattle-free resonance that projects the shell's pure, natural character.
Little touches that make big differences
Each Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple floor tom features thoughtful touches that add up to give your sound huge benefits. First, optimized bearing edges (45 degrees) ensure that the drum always sounds its best in concert with the drumhead. Next, Yamaha strategically places a vent hole in an ideal position to give you maximum color, sustain, and playability. Finally, the shell interior is coated with Yamaha's "vintage natural" finish for more than just a pretty face — it enhances the sound of each drum even further.
