Traditional Artistry, Brought to Your Platter
TEAC’s TA-TS30UN turntable mat brings expert Japanese craftsmanship to your turntable, ideal for vinyl enthusiasts seeking a focused, uncolored listening experience. To reduce static buildup and prevent dust accumulation, the mat’s surface is made from traditional unryū-shi paper — a type of washi paper characterized by long fibers swirling throughout the sheet and crafted from mulberry trees at the foot of the Shikoku Mountains. The washi surface surrounds a stone-paper core that blends calcium carbonate and polyethylene to add mass, keeping your record flat so stylus pressure remains even for improved tracking. Sweetwater vinyl enthusiasts also note that the stone-paper core provides strong internal cushioning, dampening unwanted platter vibration and delivering a stable, articulate foundation for your records. Gray and white unryū-shi paper on either side of the mat creates a distinctive, reversible design, allowing you to choose the color that best suits your turntable setup. Thoughtfully crafted in Japan, the TEAC TA-TS30UN washi paper turntable mat elevates your setup and keeps your vinyl collection sounding its best, session after session.

TEAC: faithful sound since 1953
Since 1953, TEAC has built audio gear around a singular idea: record and reproduce sound as faithfully as possible. Founded in Tokyo by audio engineer Katsuma Tani, the company released its first original product in 1957: the TD-102 open-reel tape deck, which found an early audience among American audio fans. TEAC's technology has since turned up in some memorable places, including the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where it helped capture slow-motion video, and Bruce Springsteen's seminal album Nebraska, which was recorded at home on a TEAC multitrack cassette recorder. While formats may have changed over the decades from reel-to-reel to cassette to high-resolution, the goal hasn't. Today, TEAC's Reference series components, turntables, streamers, and DACs are built for listeners who want to hear the authentic performance, the way the artist and engineer(s) intended.
