Hear Your Records the Way the Artists Intended
A high-performance, belt-drive turntable, the TEAC TN-5BB was designed to reproduce records exactly how artists and engineers intended. To keep vibration at bay, its hybrid chassis pairs a synthetic marble plinth with a heavy MDF baseplate, separated by washi paper washers. Building on this intentional craftsmanship, an acrylic platter, bolstered by TEAC’s Platter Rotation Sensing Servo System (PRS3), delivers precise, stable rotation at 33 1/3, 45, and 78 rpm. The S-shaped universal tonearm, designed in collaboration with SAEC, complements the platter by boasting a stainless-steel knife-edge bearing for vertical movement and two-point high-precision ball bearings for lateral movement. Beyond its bearings, the turntable's tonearm features an adjustable vertical tracking angle, Baerwald alignment geometry, and internal wiring made with SAEC PC-Triple C conductor. Sweetwater's vinyl enthusiasts especially appreciate the added convenience of a powered arm lifter that raises and lowers the arm with a single button and automatically returns it to the starting position when playback ends. Out of the box, the TN-5BB comes with a pre-adjusted, highly lauded Ortofon 2M Red MM (moving-magnet) cartridge, so you can start listening soon after setup. What's more, on the connectivity side, in addition to standard RCA outputs, this turntable has balanced XLR outputs, ensuring a stable, interference-free signal between your turntable and preamp. Visually, it makes a statement with an eye-catching piano-black finish, contrasted by machined-aluminum knobs, arm lift switch, and feet. A high-end addition to any vinyl collection, the TN-5BB is sure to deliver immersive, uncompromised playback and a listening experience rich in source clarity.

TEAC: faithful sound since 1953
Since 1953, TEAC has built audio gear around a singular idea: record and reproduce sound as faithfully as possible. Founded in Tokyo by audio engineer Katsuma Tani, the company released its first original product in 1957: the TD-102 open-reel tape deck, which found an early audience among American audio fans. TEAC’s technology has since turned up in some memorable places, including the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where it helped capture slow-motion video, and Bruce Springsteen’s seminal album Nebraska, which was recorded at home on a TEAC multitrack cassette recorder. While formats may have changed over the decades from reel-to-reel to cassette to high-resolution, the goal hasn’t. Today, TEAC’s Reference series components, turntables, streamers, and DACs are built for listeners who want to hear the authentic performance, the way the artist and engineer(s) intended.
