Took a minute to figure out (some old drivers were conflicting with the STM32 bootloader) but once I figured it out, this module became indispensable. It's a powerhouse for connecting your modular to... really anything MIDI capable. Using the online configuration tool, you can swap any of the outputs for, I feel like, literally any MIDI data.

My go-to is to set 1 and 2 to MIDI channel 1 Note CV and Gate, and the 3-8 are synced to the clock in various divisions. I don't need any clock dividers anymore... And depending on the project, you can change it to whatever you need. I set it up to send a MIDI drum track to play it through my modular for one project - sending 5 MIDI channel gates, 1 MIDI CV, and 2 clock divisions, gave my all the freedom I needed to 'play' kick, snare, toms, and hihats through different synth modules for some really interesting electronic percussion. When I was done, I loaded back my 'default' config and you're good to go.

It's honestly probably the most valuable module in my rack, as it allows me to sync my modular with Cubase in limitless ways and integrate my instrument into my compositions like I haven't been able to before, and all from one module. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I picked this up with the hope that it would allow me to integrate my modular setup with my DAW. It has exceeded my expectations!

Configuration is easy using the online tool, and this device allows me to play in monophonic or polyphonic architectures, or automate control of several parameters. The Univer Inter offers a whole lot of power in a small package, and is a perfect candidate for a DAW-centric setup.

This module made it possible for my Akai EWI to properly map the midi cc messages for breath control to a cv port then patch my Behringer system 55 and get a voice I imagined a long while ago that DAW has simply not been able to achieve.

This is really a necessity if you are into experimenting with connecting your modular system to other MIDI devices and your DAW. As long as you have the input device, you can use this for clock dividing, sequencing, triggers, polyphony, expressive playing, CV control, and more.

A star knocked off because this thing has some minor but frustrating issues. First, in order to set the device, you MUST plug in the USB while the module is powered off, then make your settings, save, then unplug the USB and then start the module. You can't do this on the fly. Also, you need to use the right kind of browser, Safari doesn't work but Chrome does. Lastly when assigning midi channels to particular outputs, it seems almost as if the outputs are wired wrong because the midi channels assigned do not match the expected output. If I route 4-5 to channel 2 and 6-7 to channel 3, the channels will be swapped for example.

However, despite some challenges I'd still recommend it because it's an absolute Swiss Army knife.
