Orthogonal Oscillators for Powerful, Standalone Synthesis
Like the Loquelic Iteritas and its Percido variant, Cursus Iteritas has received the power of Percido, transforming its groundbreaking oscillator design into a voltaic, performance-oriented powerhouse of a standalone synth voice. Its underlying architecture, Cursus Iteritas, delivers an unusual, inspiring approach to synthesis with spectral-like control. This oscillator works from dynamically generated wavetables that are ultimately derived from three mathematical conceptualizations of frequency: Fourier, Daubechies, and Walsh, each of which features its own operating mode. A suite of advanced orthogonal controls allows you to shape and sharpen the harmonic output, boosting, cutting, spreading, and prioritizing various aspects of the sonic spectrum. An oversampling filter and wavefolder grant even greater opportunities for distinctive tone-crafting, introducing musical overtones to enrich your sound. Percido introduces a shapable envelope and a slew of CV and performance controls to fully transform its distinct voicing into fully fledged solo synth voice, with Sweetwater’s synthesists eager to take it to the stage.

Percido, performance, and the master blaster
What the Percido designation primarily shares across modules is the introduction of a fully shapable and controllable envelope, allowing you to utilize these modules as standalone synth voices instead of oscillators. Trigger and loop modes provide plenty of variety for momentary or continuously regenerating envelopes. In contrast, a free-running mode lets you use Cursus like its smaller sibling, eschewing the envelope features. Dedicated bipolar parameters manage the envelope’s attack and decay, as well as its shape. In the former, as you move from counterclockwise onward, the envelope morphs from all decay to complete attack. With the latter, the curvature blends from exponential in shape to logarithmic, with a dead-center stop along the way for a linear profile.
CIP introduces an extensive suite of CV controls, allowing you to modulate not just its native oscillator parameters, but the behaviors and structures of the envelope itself. This is especially useful in conjunction with the dedicated envelope output. Smack in the middle is the unavoidable, incredibly named Master Blaster — a one-stop performance-oriented control knob that sends your synth stratospheric. Envelope values fully send when completely clockwise, while the envelopes send a complete, inverted set of signals when totally counterclockwise.
